Ingredients
  • 1 pkg - French's Chilio Mix or if you like spicey add 4 Alarm Chili Mix
  • 1 cup - bean liquid
  • 1/2 tsp. - garlic salt
  • 1 lb - grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 can - tomatoes or you can substitue Rotel Tomatoes if you like it hot
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • 3 1/2 cups - cooked pinto beans
  • 1 tsp. - salt
  • l l/2 lb - ground beef
Directions

Brown ground beef in oil, add Chilio Mix, pinto bean liquid, tomatoes and pinto beans. Mix well. Cook until well Blended, but not real dry. Place in 3 quart casserole dish, in layers: alternating meat mixture and cheese, ending with cheese. Bake 350 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes or until cheese is well melted.


Notes

This is really good in  the winter time and all you need to go with it is a pan of cornbread and a salad.

Hi Sue: Questions: Can of tomatoes --what size? what kind? Diced, stewed, etc.? 3 1/2 cups of cooked pinto beans--what size can would substitute for this? Recipe sounds great. Thanks for your help! Marian
