This is a time travel book that takes place during the Revolutionay War. The Hero is a Rebel or Patriot depending on your point of view. The Heroine (Peobe) is a lost soul in the 20th century. She goes to a costume party and is transported back in time Thus beginning her adventure.Adn as in all good Romances she falls in love, faces crisis in love and situation, is saved and saves the hero and eventually lives happily ever after.

THe book was different than I was expecting but I enjoyed it very much. Personally I would have liked a bit more history in the context of the book. The intimate scenes were a bit repeatative and one sided. Other than that it was a good read. I was never board.

This is a time-travel historical romance. I really enjoyed this book. It does have a few steamy scenes, albeit between a soon-to-be married then married couple. Great story, hard to put down!

Divorced and unemployed, even abandoned by her dog, Phoebe Turlow hopes that a weekend on Paradise Island will help her forget her problems. But when she arrives at the historic hotel, she feels as if she's been there before. While preparing for a costume party, Phoebe steps into an elevator and arrives in the year 1780. She has no idea why she's there or even how, but there's no doubt she's travelled through time when she comes face to face with the notorious pirate Duncan Rourke. Thinking that Phoebe must be a British spy, Duncan doesn't understand the strange way she talks or believe anything she says. Yet, she's carrying things that couldn't possibly come from his time. When she tells him that the Continental Army will defeat the Tories and win the American Revolution, he wants to believe her. But can she actually be from the future? Phoebe knows that she's from a different time, but the past seems so familiar to her. A wise old woman tells her she belongs with Duncan, to be his wife and give him children. In her heart, it's what she wants a man who will love her like no other ever has and a family she can cherish. But Duncan is a pirate and the British want to hang him. He has enemies everywhere, even in his own house. In a trip through time Phoebe and Duncan discover a love that was meant to last forever. But their future is uncertain and their lives are in danger. To love Duncan would be dangerous, but Phoebe doesn't have a choice. Her destiny is to be with Duncan, no matter what the history books say.

Great writer. And fun that this book includes a bit of sci-fi in with the romance.

You can really tell that this was one of Linda's earlier books but it is still a good one to read. I enjoyed it very much.
