Last night B (10) and I were playing a game (first time for him) called Global Pursuit (National Geographic). Part of it is similar to Trivial Pursuit in that you have a card with 3 levels of questions. The way we were playing it is that B had to answer the first question, and for me to get credit, I had to answer the 2nd and 3rd. At first, he was more judgmental ( Q: Name 2 types of coral island formations. "Wow,  I can see you missing fringe reef, but how could anyone not know barrier reef?") Then he started worrying because he was kicking my butt.

So he says, consolingly, "It's not your fault. You had to go to public school."

No, but by homeschooling my children I have seen how poor my own education was. ..and I went to  "good " schools.

Yes my son is so much better than I am at trivia type  games. We play "Are you smarther than a 5th Grader" with Grandma and my son is most of the time better than all of us. I think it is great in a way as that means we have been doing a good job.
