I'm thinking of running a deal in the Bazaar but I want to exclude a couple of books so I'm thinking of putting them on hold.  If I place a book on hold on my bookshelf, do I lose my place in FIFO?

I looked in Help but it only addresses vacation hold that I can see.

Yes, you do. This came up a couple of months ago.

If it is not a lot of books you could put a note on your post excluding them. That way you don't have to worry about losing your place.  Just a though.  I don't know how people would take it though, as I've never posted a deal in the bazaar

It's an idea.  I just want to exclude the cozy mysteries as I'm getting ready to start a box in games and I want to use the newer ones to stock it if they aren't requested for a credit by then.

Thanks!

If you put your whole shelf on hold, you keep your place in the FIFO-it'll just keep skipping you until you take them off hold. But if you put just some of the books on hold, it puts you at the end of the line when you put them on your shelf.

You could tag the books you don't want to include when you run the deal. Also post them in the deal thread. Then delete the tags when the deal is over.  Something like "not part of Mendy's deal" or similar.

Would using the tags work?  I was under the impression that users can turn off tags.

True but it couldn't hurt.  She would still need to put it in the original deal thread that certain books are excluded and which books those are.

Many of the deals have certain conditions. For example, I always look for the "children's books" deals b/c those are usually people who have lots of children's books on their shelves. I'd think it'd be fine to say all book except for cozy mysteries.

I think I'll just go that route.  Thanks everyone!
