Wonderful Southern story of buried secrets. I loved Erma Lee Jacobs for her strength and vulnerability.

The story was very different yet not unlike many real stories in our world. At first I thought it was going to be slow reading and that it might not hold my interest, but as I got into the story and the characters I found it to be a great read!! There were many good lessons found here and the love between the characters was remarkable. There was one spot when I cried along with the characters, remembering a loss of someone that I loved. So this story really touched my heart and I would suggest it to anyone who likes a book that they just don't want to put down!! Michael Morris did a great job on this, his first book teaching us spiritual things and forgiveness.

One of the best books I've read in quite a while! The author's descriptive, poignant storytelling made me feel like I was there. I came to know the characters well and couldn't put this book down. Long after I turned the last page, my heart remained in Wiregrass, Alabama.

Erma Lee and her granddaughter, Cher, flee to the town of Wiregrass, Alabama, to escape the past and start over -- or so Erma Lee thinks. Life in Wiregrass is different, for here they find mercy and promise -- until Cher's convict father shows up.

This is the second book I've read by Michael Morris and I loved them both. In my estimation, he is an excellent writer and it amazes me how he understands the heart of a woman; her emotions, her fears, her strengths.

A good story and a reminder that God puts people in our lives for a reason.
