Very well written with some beautifully crafted descriptions which give you a real feel for the history & lifestyle in Normandy, France. An enjoyable read, especially for lovers of all things French & those beginning to study the history of Normandy.

This is non-fiction with some interesting information on the author's family, who includes American Impressionist artist, Frederick Frieseke.
