This book is as comprehensive as they come. The text captures the attitude of the band and it's mission statement of 'Take no prisoners' along with the hype that was used to generate interest to a public that leans towards more sedate offerings. The bands photographer (Butch Star) documented the years of over the top performances that dominate the book with visual imagery of a band like no other. After all these years, they remain a stunning sonic and visual assault of like minded individuals that created musical chaos that has not been matched. No exaggeration. The book covers everything from the formation of the band and it's members, to standout shows, all vinyl releases at the time of publication and highlights their own form of propaganda. Actually, the propaganda was a real belief held by Wendy O. Williams considering the state of the world and the hypocrisy that she fought against. At the helm was Rod Swenson, Manager and all around visionary that steered the band and it's history. This book is absolutely satisfying in every way. After reading this book (or just viewing the images) you will want to find and play every LP/CD and dig up even more information on the Plasmatics. All of the information you need though is right at your fingertips. The LPs, CDs and DVDs are worth every bit of effort to dig up. Punk & Rock n Roll that embodies all of the elements of Danger, Irreverence, Originality, Creativity and Pure Passion by the band and everyone that did time with them. The Plasmatics were well ahead of their time and the world is still huffing and puffing to catch up. This book is the only homework you really need to get up to speed with such a legendary band. This book is impossible to oversell. It should be mentioned that certain images in the book are not intended for children. The cover of the book should make that all too clear.
