This book is based on a television series that featured a young(er) Patrick Stewart before he was known outside the world of the stage, plus other recognizable faces like Ben Kingsley, Judi Dench, and Ian McKellan. A helpful resource for anyone who has or anticipates tackling Shakespearean verse on stage. It does not tell you "this is how you do it" but rather gives some additional insight that could deepen your perspective or make the text easier to connect with. There is something here for every level, but the more you experience, the more you will get out of it - so read it now, and then read it again later on. There is also a chapter on contemporizing Shakespeare - its pluses and pitfalls that every director should consider.
