I sent a member a book. I think she must have had it on auto accept. I posted a book, it was automatically accepted. I sent the book, bought tracking, tracking shows delivered 3 weeks ago. The book is getting ready to go lost. I sent her a PM, no response. Then I saw her bookshelf is on vacation hold. When you go on a vacation hold, your auto request doesn't? I thought they might be tied together so everything is on hold at once? What happens now? Let's say she's on vacation hold all through December, do I receive the book credit whenever she takes it off hold and marks received? How long after a vacation hold does someone have to mark a book received? Thank you! |

Auto request is the only thing that overrides 'vacation hold'. Members specifically put certain books on auto-request so that when they are not around to accept a WL offer, those books at least will still be processed and mailed to them. If you bought your tracking at PO, yes you will have to wait til it goes lost to report this to PBS, but another current thread states that even if you didn't buy the tracking thru PBS, you can send them the # so that they can see the book did arrive and they will possibly give you your credit. |

At this time of year, some members will use Vacation Hold as they do not want to go to the Post Office. |

Thanks!
Good point about the lines! I was at the post office at my lunch hour and boy was it a long line! I think in my case, this member might actually be away. She received the book 3 weeks ago so I'm thinking if she did use vacation hold to avoid the p.o, she would still see the emails pbs sends or the book itself would trigger her to sign on. Thanks for the help you two, I appreciate it!

If the member has a hold at the post office, the book will be marked as delivered when it is placed in the hold bin. Not when it actually arrives at the door. This can make the tracking look very suspicious. When she gets the book, she will need to mark the book as received in her Transaction Archive. |

Oh, I see Emily! Thanks! That's a good point and one I didn't even consider. Thanks again.
