Per the rules of the site:

• Genre Discussion Forums (numerous)
  • allow discussion of books and authors in specific genres.

We ask that members give thought to the appropriateness of their topic for the forum in which they post. It works best for everyone if questions are posted in Questions About PaperBackSwap, USPS issues are posted in USPS Postal Regulations, games are confined to Games, etc. Topics advertising your bookshelf should NOT be started in any forum but the Book Bazaar. Keeping "deals" and the like confined to the Book Bazaar not only unclutters the other forums, but also allows members who post deals to be sure that their deal is seen, and members who seek deals to find them. We have created enough forums to allow a place for anything our members might like to discuss.

Just a quickie comment - Children't book thread is absolutely LITTERED with book deal threads.  Romance had the same problem until they created a thread just for that.  It works for them.  Children's is taking about doing a thread devoted just for deals.  If we decide its a good idea, I'm going to contact PBS and be sure of their say on it.  Maybe we can even get a sticky for the thread so random peopkle that don't usually post in our forum and are only there to post their deal and leave will see it right away. Even though deals are suppossed to go in bazaar, they end up with us anwyays and the problem exists whether or not the rule is in place, so we're trying to combat it.

R&R created the Book Bazaar a few years ago because every forum was littered with people pimping their books and deals.  It was a mess.  So I am pretty sure they are going to tell people to use the Book Bazaar because that's why it exists.
