Actually, it was for a French chef that the lovely and honorable Pamela Pollwordth was hunting. Since her family had moved to London they would be deeply embarrassed if they did not have a French chef in residence. Certainly their old-fashioned English cook would never do.

That is why Pamela decided to call upon the Duke of Pevensey. She had heard that he was unhappy with his chef. Perhaps he could be persuaded to let him go.

But Pamela mistook Pevensey for a servant and a very merry misunderstanding began for them both...a fun read.
