I have no suggestions on the creativity, but maybe some suggestions on what to include in the pockets - assuming that we're thinking of the same thing:

Post It Notes
Individually wrapped tea bags
Recipes (handwritten on cards or from magazines - the type that are printed 6 or so to a page and can be removed)
Anything cute that can be used as a bookmark
Small notecards
Gum
Postage stamps
Small flat magnets
Stickers
Tiny nails files

You're probably already aware of this, but there's a site for pocket letters: Pocket Letters

Lots of cool ideas there!

Don't forget that if your "letter" is more than 1/4" thick at any spot, it is actually considered to be a package.  The nice thing is you will get a free tracking number, but the cost for a package starts at $2.67 (I think!).  If that is the case, it would actually be cheaper (probably) to mail in a full size envelope as a large envelope without folding the pockets.

I had NEVER heard of this, course it is new. This sounds like soooo much fun. It would be great to have a sticker train of this, or in some way incoporate this into a thing where it goes to the next person and the next person. There are so many ideas that could come from this. Like each one holds 9. So 9 peeps. Each person gets the pocket letter, adds one thing to one of the pockets, sends it to the next person, they add something until all 9 peeps added. The last peep on the train gets the whole pocket letter. The you go in a circle so that in the end everyone gets a pocket letter. I guess that is one way to do it. Thanks for bringing this up Gina!!! I may try this with my BFF and we could get into this!
