It was a quick read but really I expected a bit more given the good recommendations I got for it. The writing seemed not to flow well at all during parts of the book and it seemed rather stilted.
I was drawn to this book because of the cover, the title, the subject, and that the lead character was in the direct path of Hurricane Ivan. Living in an area where we live from June 1st to November 30th (and some years beyond that) with the knowledge that a hurricane could come at any time, I have batteries, water, canned food, weather radio, and other necessary items on hand at all times. When I open a new date book I go to June and write across the top, "keep gas tank topped".
This book is good, but could have been better.
