The illustrations by Jean Chandler are fantastic, with some detail but not enough to be overwhelming or to distract from the item the text is focused on. Sarah Price's text is simple, and she's created a nice rhyme that kids will learn almost faster than they'll learn their colors. The best part of all, of course, is that this book leads naturally to the "big kid" book, The Poky Little Puppy, so it's a nice little tool for hooking them when they're too young to fight back!
