A mild thriller set in 1986 near Churchill, Manitoba. Characters are polar bear research teams at Churchill. Incidental mentions of the rocket range and aurora.
Awkward arrangement of plot segments, at times. Especially at the end, unclear what is the motivation and fate of some characters. Alliances are unclear and subject to reader's speculation. Seems that a next-to-last chapter is missing. -- Part of the reason I read mysteries is that, in most books, all is fully explained.
You will find this particularly interesting if you have been to Churchill, seen polar bears, or are familiar with Tundra Buggies.
