Highly recommended! This book was unputdownable. An utterly fascinating behind-the-scenes, no holds barred view of politics at the national level. Plus, lots of dirt on John Edwards, who comes across as the most hypocritical, fake, jerk of a politician out there (though I know many more of them share these traits!). Definitely read this if you have any interest in politics. Riveting!! |

Yeah Marilyn... he just seemed... I don't know... way too smarmy for my liking. I could never put my finger on why, but I never trusted the guy. Now I know why. For me, it's not the Rielle Hunter affair - just his overall sense of entitlement and extreme hypocrisy, and general dishonesty. Blecch. Obviously, Andrew Young has an ax to grind with Edwards, but, he's stated that his information is backed up by documented e-mails and recorded voice mails, etc. He'd really have his arse in a sling if he published items that were untrue, in terms of being sued for slander/libel. So I'm inclined to believe that the book is factual. Even taking away Andrew Young's personal dislike of John Edwards (for which he has good reason), the facts alone make Edwards quite the unsavory fellow. I was drawn in hook line and sinker, hopefully you will be too, Marilyn!! |

Like Marilyn, I am interested in hearing you liked it. I am in Raleigh so we have all "known" him and the family for a long time. Not sure when things went so wrong with him. But now the whole thing is so pathetic I can't even think about reading the book. Last Edited on: 11/7/10 8:03 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |
