So PBS runs on the FIFO rule which is great. I like knowing what number in line I am to receive a book and being able to find out how many people are wishing for a book, but I was wondering if there is a way to see how many books are available so I can also tell when a book on my shelf might be requested. When I look up a book and no one is currently wishing for it, it only tells me that I can order it, but it doesn't say how many are available. Am I not looking in the right place, or is this information just not available? Thank you.

You can add the book to your reminder list to see how many copies of the book are available in the system.  it won't tell you the position of your book but at least how many copies are in the system.

# of copies also isn't a good indicator of how quickly it will be ordered.  You can post a book with a few copies that no one has any interest in and have it sit for months or years.  At the same time you can post a book with a few hundred and have it ordered within a few weeks.

Yeah, I know there is no guarantee when my books will be requested, but it will help me to decide if I post the book on PSB or trade it with my favorite used bookstore. If there are hundreds of the same book posted, I would probably be better off taking that book to the bookstore. Thank you for the information, I will try the reminder list.

Jessica, my rule is to leave the book on my PBS bookshelf for a year. If it is not requested in that time, I trade it in for credit at my local used book store.  It's a win-win scenario for me.
