I was #2 in line for a wishlisted book, and now I'm # 3. This is kind of a shock-----how could this happen? |

Rest assured Barbara, nobody has cut in front of you. Sara's link lists several legitimate circumstances under which a member can move backwards in a WL line. Although frustrating to see your number move back occassionally, it looks alot better from the other side...such as when you receive a RWAP or have a wishlisted book go lost. |

Barbara, usually when the wish list position goes back it is because others that wished for the book before you had either their account or the book on hold. Sometimes someone before you gets a bad book so they can go back to their original spot. |

Hopefully you do not have any wish list books that I have WL'ed too. I put them on hold and take them off hold constantly. I have almost 300 on my WL, but it varies how many are actually active, depending on the day or hour, LOL. I probably drive the other wishlisters crazy!! |

I'm kind of like thekoose. I have several books on my wishlist that are on hold. A good number of those I'm #1 for--I'm just not ready to receive the book yet. So when I'm ready for a book (if ever) I'll take it off of hold, which of course would move everyone behind me back a notch. |

That hold number should still be counted to make the number accurate.

Cindy--I'm not sure including it would make it more accurate. What if 25 people in front of me have the book on hold? Then my wishlist would show that I'm number 26. Suddenly I get offered a book, because I'm the next in line who's not on hold. But I didn't expect the book to be offered to me for awhile, because I was way down the list. So now, I'm not prepared to receive the book and might have to scramble around for a credit...Maybe they could include the holds in front of you in the number and then also show the number on hold in front of you. I have a feeling that might require a lot of programming though! |
