I have the best solution with mailing problems, lost in the mail, media mail sitting around for weeks before moving on, non-scanned mail, etc.
I don't list all my available books. The people who work in my local post office (lol this is alaksa, there is only one local po for 50 miles) are also avid readers. I regularily take up bags of books and drop them off for the postal workers to read. Nice folk that they are, they always scan my books I am mailing immediately. I would share books anyway with them, but it certainly doesn't hurt my shipping at all. Check it out... I bet someone in your post office likes to read.
That was going to be my first move, until a friend told me about this site, and can get credits for books. But have so many books myself her to read. At the moment I have so many on my bookshelf, that I may gather some together and donate to some charity or organization.
I seem to be spending more money on postage than using my credits.
I didn't know what you said about the post office, though. Makes you think.
