I don't know if this constitutes a stain or not.  I just ordered a couple books from Amazon.  (like I needed more books right?)

They're all WL books.  So I have Keeper of the Spirit by Ruby Storm. It's a thick tradesize book, brand new.  I haven't even cracked it open yet.  But I noticed the bottom has kind of a scuff mark on it.  It actually almost looks like ink but then not like ink.  It almost looks like it could also be dirt like maybe it was dropped before they boxed it up.

I'd hate to send this out and have a complaint. But then it's a brand new book and I would be perfectly happy to pay a credit for it-but then I'm not very picky either.

if it is dirt (or seems like dirt) can you not brush it off?  I'm sure you've already tried that.

I'd say it would be ok but then I'm sometimes in the grey area on what is really a stain

Can you sand it off with sandpaper, Mary?  If you're talking on the outside page border at the top or bottom of a book, you just hold the book closed very tightly, and sand it using a fine grit sandpaper.  Most scuff marks and other odd marks like that tend to sand off pretty easily.

If it's really not too bad, I would just PM the requestor. More than likely, they'll want it anyways!

If it were on my wish list, I'd take it anyway - partly because I'm not so picky either, and partly because it's a wish list book!  I'd probably post it and then PM them and let them know about the spot.  I imagine most people wouldn't mind, but you never know.

This is not something that would bother me but I am not super-picky, esp if it is a book I really, really want.
