I have some Christine Feehan MP3CDs for her earlier Dark series books.  I got them used from  ebay. They have the publishing info but no ISBN and no box.  Just the plastic disc holder.  Can I post these without an ISBN?  They aren't discs made from a download. They have the copywrite info on them just not an isbn.  I know audio books don't need the box but since I don't have an ISBN I thought I'd check.  I was only able to play them on my computer. I was able to transfer them to Itunes and play them on my IPOD but it was tricky for some reason.  That could just be because I'm barely computer literate though. I'm just concerned that someone will think I sent them bad cds.  I had to play with them a bit to get them loaded onto Itunes. But like I said I'm computer stupid and also my computer is like 7yrs old and very out of date.

Also I was thinking of running a deal on them.  They'll be cheap to mail and it just seems like too much to ask 2 credits a piece when it's one disc/story and no box.  How would I do that when I have to post them with an ISBN?  Should I just wait to post them and offer them in the book bazaar first?  The person who wanted them wouldn't be able to add them to their WL.  NOt sure how to handle that.

If you know the production company and the name of the narrator, you should be able to find the (matching) ISBN that way.

I don't want to assume it's the same one as one posted.  I don't want to get dinged for sending a cd with the wrong ISBN because mine doesn't have one-or the box.  I know they don't have to have the box but you know how people are-they'll ding for things like that or no dust jacket even when they didn't have RCs requesting one.

You might want to send in feed-back and get an "official" answer. Not having the box or ISBN is fine, but I know the rules say that you cannot post something that requires a computer to read. I think there a CD players out there now that read MP3 format, but I don't use them so I can't say for sure.

Offering in the bazaar, might be the way to go (you'd still have to determine if they are postable here first). You could always use the buddy system to exchange credits.

eta: All of the Feehan MP3 CDs are Wishlisted so it looks like you could get rid of them pretty easily.

John, your recommendation is a major No No!!  and like Mary said she could easily get dinged and have to return the credit if someone received them and the ISBN was not on the disk.

As long as the MP3 CDs are professional purchases (ie as you said, not copied/burned to a disc, with a label handmade or written on or made with a laser disc labeler) then it is postable. If it doesn't have an ISBN, then you simply post it as any book without an ISBN. Suggestions have been made to add a tag to your non-PBS ISBN on the regular ISBNd titles to get people to notice yours. All looks good to me.
