I received a book today that has an inch rip on the paper part of the spine. It's bad enough I can see the glue on the spine itself. I know 1 inch rips are ok on the covers, but wasn't sure about the paper part of the spine.

Erin--

If it is a paperback and the spine/binding is intact (just the "pretty picture" is separating from the backing), I don't see anything in the condition guidelines that would make it unpostable.

I would consider the "paper part of the spine" to be part of the cover. So as long as the spine is fine, then it seems it should be fine.
