I have a brand new book (new release), that my 18 month old got ahold of the day I bought it and ripped the corner of the front cover off, it is about 1 inch by 2 inch bottom right corner, I immediatly taped it back on with a peice of shipping tape, the cover is intact, it was a clean tear. Can I post it? Last Edited on: 2/8/09 10:53 AM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Unfortunately Beth the guidelines say that the tear needs to be one inch or less. You can't ask for a credit for this book, but you could go to the book bazaar and offer it as a freebie with another order from your shelf. Sara |

Okay, thanks. Not a big deal though, I'll just hold onto it for awhile. Maybe re-read it in the future. I just was thinking of trying to pass it on because it's on about 100 members wish lists.
Thanks again! Last Edited on: 2/8/09 7:12 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

I don't know if this is allowed, but could you tag the book with something like "PM Just-Beth for unpostable." That way, someone who wants it would know you have it. |

I don't think that is an appropriate way to use Tags, Victoria. Tags can be seen on all copies of the ISBN that are tagged, so it won't help to do that and will probably be X'd as inappropriate. :>O |

Beth, I know we talked about this on the L&R forum, but I'm going to bump an old topic for you on book repairs too, just in case you ever run into it again. As long as it's a clean tear, it's very easy to make nearly invisible, permanent repairs to torn pages & covers using document glue rather than tape. Here's a link to the bumped topic: www.paperbackswap.com/forum/topic.php |

You could check out the Damaged Books Virtual Box. Or you could offer it as a freebie with an order from your shelf. If it has that long of a WL you could probably offer it if someone orders 2 books from you. |
