Hi everyone,

I'm worried that I made a mistake and posted an unpostable book back when I joined.  It's just been requested and I'm not sure what I ought to do.  When I took out the book, I noticed that the first page (not a text page, but where there are excerpts of reviews of the novel) has a small tear in one edge, less than one inch.  I looked this up in the help docs and it said that tears of less than an inch were okay on the cover but I couldn't tell if this applied to the pages as well, especially a page that doesn't have the text of the book on it.

Now I'm regretting it, but I accepted the request so that I could PM the requester and explain the situation.  I told them that if they don't want it I will go ahead and cancel the request so it gets removed from my bookself, and if I don't hear back from them in two days, I'll go ahead and send it.  They haven't gotten back to me so far.  I suppose if I don't hear back from them by the deadline I set I will send it off and refund their credit if they RWAP it.

I'm really worried that I inadvertantly posted an unpostable book.  :(

Is there anything else I should do to fix this?

IIRC it's only writing on a text/story page that makes a book unpostable.  This page could be missing altogether and the book should still meet guidelines, so the tear should only be a problem on text page or covers.

But I could be mistaken *it happens* so hopefully other members will post also!

What a great newmember you are!  So glad you joined and came here to post!  I think it's probably okay.  It is one of those "grey" areas where we're to use common sense (whatever that is!).   If you have PM'd them then you'll hopefully get your answer before time runs out to mark it mailed.  That's the problem with PM-ing people about books.  Don't fret andworry.  You'll be fine and if the book is WL'd it will find a home.

Thanks, guys!

Hopefully I'll hear back from this member by tonight, which is the deadline I set for them to PM me.  If not, I'll send it out and hope for the best.

I'm with Denise, if you were to remove the page entirely, the book is postable, therefore the small rip on a non-text page is postable. Its a gray area, though.
