I have a bunch of computer "books" that I'm not sure about. They have no ISBNs and they look more like periodicals but they have no advertising and they originally cost about $30 each. Windows 10 User Guide, iPad User Guide, iPhone User Guide, Beginning Linux Guide, things like that. Most have CDs included. Are they postable? And if not, any ideas what to do with them? I don't want to throw them out and at what they cost me I don't realy want to just give them away either. But I'm no longer working in IT and I really don't need them anymore. |

Bren, I would say - yes they are - that's not to say that someone here is going to tell you "No you cannot" because we have quite a few nay-sayers - , but I'm going to tell you that you can - 'cause, well I'm a hopeless yea-sayer.. You will need to post them as if they were books w/o an ISBN - PBS has a How-To Library and one of the subjects is "How To Post A Book That Does Not Have An ISBN" (or something like that.) Once posted they become searchable by title or genre or author if given - they also need to meet certain requirements such as a minimum number of pages (forget what that is but should be in the PBS Library of "How To Post A BOOK Without An ISBN" - they can be paperback, hardback, wire-wound bounding (but maybe not Loose-Leaf Paper Bound (kept together by a Loose Leaf Ring Binder)). After you post you may also want to post in the Bazzar to let folks know you have them - and maybe post in the Discussion Forum under "Computer (Thingies)" as well - try to get the word out, otherwise they may languish on your bookshelves for a long time.. Tech stuff usually goes quick here - if folks know about it - good luck,

Bren, yes those books are postable. Just follow Danny's instructions on how to post them.

Should be postable, unless they meet the criteria for pamphlets (I don't recall the number of pages that determines a book vs. pamphlet).. |

If you bought them vs coming with an install CD, then they should have an ISBN somewhere on the book. Sometimes it takes a little searching. If they come with an install disk - like it is an install disk for Win10 is what came with the Win 10 user manual, and you have that Win10 installed somewhere, then it is illegal for you to "sell" that disk while using that install code. You should still be able to swap the manual by itself as long as it doesn't require the disk to be used. |

I have discovered that these books are actually called "bookzines" and are unpostable here. |

Could you share where you heard this? I have been a Tour Guide for years and never heard the term or its postability. Would be something good to add to information for Tour Guide reference. |

They are unpostable because the post office won't allow them to be shipped media rate because they are considered periodicals. |
