......even though the third label was, like the first two, for a book under one pound. Early this morning, I printed wrappers for two books. Both of these books were well under one pound in weight. With the $.19 DC fee (when did it increase from eighteen cents?) and the $.43 printable postage fee, the total amount subtracted from my account was $2.95 for each book. Just a few minutes ago, I attempted to print another label using PBS printable postage for another book which is also well under a pound in weight. However, for this one, the total fee was $3.00. I don't understand why this difference in cost. All three books were under 1 pound, and I used PBS Printable Postage for all 3 books yet the third book was five cents more. Any ideas? Thanks, Jan |

The postage rates went up today. You may have been charged the old rate for the first two and then the new rate for the last one. |

Yes, I knew the postage rates increased today. But when I printed the first two wrappers, the postage page CLEARLY stated my grand total was $2.95 each for those first two books. I am positive of this because every time I mail a book, I keep a log with the title, date I mailed it, media rate or first class, and the TOTAL amount of the postage I was charged. As I posted the $2.95 amount, I was thinking: okay, the total for PBS Printable Postage (for under 1 pound) went up from $2.84 to $2.95. However, I just now went to my Money Registry and it shows there that I was charged $3.00 each for those two books. I didn't imagine that it said $2.95 so it must have been some sort of glitch this morning. |
