I posted a book using the ISBN number. I came up with a different cover but it said the cover didnt' have to match as long as the rest of the information matched. After posting it, I saw the same cover on another book in the system with a different ISBN number. Why does it show the wrong cover and how can that be changed? Also, on another book, the cover show was ok, but it came up as a 'revised' edition and the one I was listing wasn't 'revised' but the older edition. The ISBN number was the same. I tagged it with a note that it wasn't the 'revised' edition. The person who requested it didn't know it wasn't the revised edition and PM'd me about it. Don't the notes show up with the addtional details before you order a book? I looked at the listing and could see the note attached to the cover but you would need to click on it to see it. What should I do...offer to give back the credit? Ask her to send it back? Thanks! Barbara |

Notes are Personal....you are the only one that sees the one's you apply. There are four things that have to match...Title, Author, ISBN, and Book type (binding). I do not think that whether it is "revised" or not would matter (someone will correct me if I'm wrong). |

Publisher's frequently reissue a book with the same ISBN but with updated reviews, cover, bonus materials etc.., Like Christy said-the notes are personal and only you can see them. Tags are seen by everyone but are not supposed to be used to describe the physical condition of a members copy of hte book. Because the orderer has no way of knowing that it applies to the version they are ordering. If your book meets the 4 criteria that matter: author, title. ISBN and binding then you have nothing to PM the requestor about. |

If "Revised Edition" or "Second Edition" appears in the title of the listing, then you cannot post the first edition of the book using that listing. You would need to post it using the Post a Book Without an ISBN screen. |
