Hello. I'm sure this has probably been asked before, but, some of the books I have posted to my bookshelf are wanted on wish lists for other users but under different ISBNs. For example, I have listed "The Secret" in Hardcover under its ISBN and there are no takers. However when I do a WL search for this book it comes up as wanted by many people (yet under a different ISBN). Is there a way to contact the members wishing other versions of certain books to let them know a different ISBN version is available? I know there are differences with Large Print and other formats, but my posts seem similar, if not exactly what others want. Would love to let people know they have other options that I am ready to mail out :) Mark P. |

Some ideas include making a post in the Book Bazaar (there's a thread for WL books with different ISBNS) or tagging the WL'ed ISBNs with something like "available as ISBN<Insert your ISBN>" There's no way to directly contact the members who have the other versions on their WL, but the aforementioned are ways to reach out. Good luck. |

You can list it in the monthly thread in the Book Bazaar for alternate versions of wish list books. Be sure to read the rules at the beginning of the thread. You can also put a short tag on the wish list book -- something like "see also 976XXXXXXX"
ETA -- oops, we were posting at the same time. :-) Also, when you post your book, an e-mail goes out to members who have other versions on their wish lists, alerting them that your book has been posted and giving them a link to it.

What I do is go to the WL version and add a tag saying something like "also under ISBN xxxx". This will get the next folks to the version you have. Another thing to check is to see if the author or title is listed differently. Then submit a data edit to make them the same. The system does not see Sam A Smith as the same as Sam A. Smith or Samuel A. Smith. So it does not trigger the other versions are available links. |
