Sorry if this is a dumb question...but I just posted a book on my shelf last night that I believe is on a lot of peoples Wish List..its a popular book and took me forever to get. Well it hasn't been requested yet...its sitting there like any other book on my shelf?

Just a little confused why it hasn't been requested yet when its on Wish Lists. Thanks.

Is the book Snow Flower and the Secret Fan?  If so, it appears that your ISBN is not wishlisted.  I just put the copy on my reminder list and there are 9 copies in the system.

I looked at your shelf.  Are you talking about the Snowflower and the Secret Fan book?  If so, you're right that one was wishlisted about a month ago but it isn't right now.  There are currently nine copies of the book in the system.  Bummer for me too because I have a copy and I was hoping it would still be WLed when I reposted it :)

Heather,

It may be other books of the same title that is on people's wishlists. Yours may be a different ISBN than what they are wishing for, and then you would not get a wishlist hold for your book. There is a thread in the Book Bazaar "Wish List Books with different ISBNs". You may want to post there what book it is and what ISBN you have. That may generate an order for it.

Yes, Snowflower and the Secret Fan is the book I'm talking about.

Thanks for all the help! It was a great book and took me months to get it, I was wondering why it  wasn't being snatched up yet, lol.

Thanks Mary! Did you change your username? I recognize your pic in your siggy but not your username. Thanks for requesting my book!

No change on the username, but I change my pics regularly.  The pic is of Sherry (royaltech).  Just put her pic in my siggy line to support her while she's going through a rough patch.  :)

When I see this I try to tag the WL version with the ISBN# that's posted into the system.  Whenever I'm going WL book hunting at the thrift stores or used book stores-I check the system for those 5digit WL books first.  Most of the time they're posted w/another 5 digit or a complete ISBN#.  I think people who don't use the message boards regularly probably don't realize that it's unlikely to be posted again with that number.

Don't worry, all you Snow Flower people.  I posted a copy recently, and even though it was no longer WL'ed, it got snatched up pretty quickly.  Same thing with Back on Blossom Street.  It's always good to have a new or popular book on your hands that doesn't already have 50+ copies in the system!
