Hi! I have an unusual book on my WL and a new poster has a copy of it. She keeps posting it and then no responding to e-mails that she has to go it and print out the wrapper and mark mailed. After the waiting period expires, I usually get a pm that says she sorry and she forgot to check her e-mail. It ususally takes her a week to re-post the book and it happens again. OK, this is the 3rd time that it happened. I am not angry, I just want to know if there is anything I can do. If she doesn't follow through this time, I thought to take the book off of auto-request and when she post it, decline. but the book will then go to my reminder list and I'll be off the wl roster, won't I. Any ideas? |

I'm thinking the only thing you can try would be to send her a PM explaining in detail what has been happening (maybe she doesn't realize the orders all came from the same person). Maybe if she understands that the book will be ordered right away she can remember to check back the next day for the order--mark her calendar or something! She'd better do some reading in the help center so she understands how PBS works or she won't ever complete a trade... |

You are correct. If you decline it will be removed from your wl and added to your reminder list. |

OK< I will just sit back now and wait till the situation gets better. Maybe I can have a record for the same exact book being ordered by one person.

You could put some sort of RC on it - like I got one that said - "If you cant mail within 3 days please decline this request." That way she might have to decline the request for the book and it would go to the next person. You wouldn't lose your place in line, but probably wouldn't get the book from her, but sounds like maybe no one will. Guess it all depends on how badly you want the book and how hard it is to come by. Good luck. Pat |

She would never see, because she posts the book and then never comes back, until way after the deadline. |

You could report it to PBS. There's not much they can do but maybe they'll send a little notice to her that will inspire her to follow through. What book is it BTW-maybe someone reading this has it in Mt TBR. |

IF she is printing out the wrapper, she would see the RC. |

Cozi, she never accepts the order, so she would never get to the RC or wrapper . The book is Mongo:Adventures in Trash by Ted Botha. |

Oh, I have that on my list to get from the library, but don't have a copy to send to you. :( |

Bump. I thought I would put this back on top. This person did not mail twice in December, twice in January and now she posted the book again. I sent an SOS to live help and they said to inform the Powers that Be here at PBS. After many more days and attempts to reach her, her account is now suspended. What a bad outcome to a wish for a book. BTW, I was told that she had mailed off many other books to other members in the months she was a member here. |

Well they wouldn't suspend her account over this one thing so she must have been doing other stuff for them to suspend her. |

I always like it when someone posts the outcome to a particularly interesting problem (sorry though that it didn't work out for you). Good luck with getting the book. Pat |

One other suggestion would have been to PM her and ask her to post the book directly to your Wish List. That way she'd only have to wait an hour after she posted it to come back and print out the wrapper. It sounds like she either seldom checks her account or maybe doesn't have computer access all the time. Sorry you missed out on the book this time. |

One trick that might help in the future on members that seem to wander off before they see the order - when you accept the offer, immediately go to the order tab and PM from the book request. This will remove the 1 hr wait and give them the order immediately. You might be able to catch the poster before they wander away. |
