I know you can do this......seen on others  book shelf, but I can't do it.......the system will not let me.  wonder why?

If the book has the same ISBN then you cannot post more than one copy at a time. Youi can post different versions of the same title.

  • If you have two versions of a book (same title but different ISBNs):
    • you may post both, as some members will request different versions of the same book through Wish Lists, etc.
  • But duplicate ISBNs cannot coexist on your account Bookshelf.
  • You may post one copy at a time
  • Once you have mailed the first copy (and marked it mailed) you can post another copy.
  •  This rule is in place to give all members a chance at getting their copies requested.

Actually, there is an exception to this. If you ordered two copies of one book from PBS, then you can post two copies of one ISBN. I had a book go lost; after a month I ordered another copy. The lost book arrived. As I had ordered the second copy, I marked the both copies received, as I am required to do. I had both copies of the book posted on my bookshelf at one time.

Actually, in a rare fluke, during last month's hiccups, the system inadvertently posted two copies of the same ISBN to my Bookshelf. I caught the mistake and deleted the 'extra' before there was a problem..

As already post Denise (nice name), that isn't allowed except under a few specific conditions.  Generally, it's a safeguard to keep members from double posting when they only have one copy.
