I have a few books that I know are on wishlists for other members. I posted the books, but none have been requested. I looked up the books as if I was going to request them and noticed a discrepency in the ISBN numbers. I would really like to get these books to other members, but I am not sure how to do that.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I really love this site as it has gotten me some very very very hard to find books, 1 that was out of print, that I had been looking for over 5 years.

Thank you

Carol - When you post a different version of a wish listed book, all members who are Wishing for other ISBN versions of the book (and who have not opted out of getting the alert emails) will be sent an alert email by PBS, letting them know that another version of the book they wanted has been posted. This email will contain a link that the Wishers can click to request the version you have posted.

If no one requests your  book, that means that members who got the email, didn't want your version or that your copy is not the only copy of this alternate ISBN available.

If you want your books to be requested, you can always post your alternate versions in the Book Bazaar.

If you are talking about your Dan Brown books-those books are all very heavily posted books.  If there happens to be some WL versions-they are either long inactive accounts that have a rarely posted version on their WL or they want that specific version of the book: generally if the WL is large print or auido then that's what they really want.  Because they all have hundreds of copies in the system already and if those wishers wanted that version they would have ordered one by now.

If I have a book that's WL in every version but mine, and it's happened before-I tag the WL version with the ISBN of mine.  Usually, if it's a case of I have a less common ISBN of a WL book it's snapped up quickly just from being on the books posted today page.  But some books have lots and lots of copies in the system and still have stray WL versions like for large print or some long forgotten edition.

I will place a tag listing the second ISBN number under the primary one.  Just in case the versions are not linked.  I put something like "Also under ISBN XXXX".  This will lead folks to the second number.

That said, a lot of WL books are for specific versions.  Such as audio books or Large Print.  Those books are often in demand long after the standard version.
