Last week I posted directly to a member, immediately 1 book was accepted and 2 went into FIFO.  Tonight I posted directly to a member and both directly went to FIFO.   Has something changed or is there a setting to accept or decline?  Any help is appreciated.

Ginny - before I post directly to a member, I send them a PM asking them if they still want the book (sometimes people forget they have a book on their list, or they've gotten it elsewhere and forgotten to take it off).  I also give them a time frame to reply - 'if I don't hear from you by xxxx I'll presume you don't want the book at this time." Also sometimes people don't have credits to accept or possibly in your case, they had a credit to accept one book, but not the others.  hard to tell. Good luck. Pat

Thanks - it was strange that both times it was an immediate posting back to FIFO.   Thanks for your suggestion - I'll do that.

Make sure in the posting process you use only the button the right on their Wish List and you see on your screen that it says you are posting it to X( their name). If you go to their Wish List and then click on the book and use the Post buttons there, it will post to FIFO instead of to the members' Wish List.

What Melanie said.  If you go to the member wish list, then to the book...it goes FIFO.  Post directly from your friends wishlist.

There will be a tiny tiny line that you are posting it to X person on the confirmation page.

I always pm the member to offer them "x titles", give them the relevant number (UPC number/ISBN) and ask if they are interested and if they have enough credits/money. I don't post without their affirmation.

Ginny, when you're posting three books to a person, you have to go through the process three times.  In other words, go to their wish list, post it.  Then navigate to their wish list AGAIN and post the second book.

It's a pain the neck, but there it is.  If you're posting all three at once, you've only posted one of them to that person.

I also found out that if the book is on hold it will go to FIFO.  Learning the little things ;)
