Pour L'Europe: The French Volunteers of the Waffen-SS
Pour L'Europe The French Volunteers of the WaffenSS Author:Robert Forbes outstanding book on the French Volunteers of the Waffen-SS, so little has been written in English, and this book is very definitive in scope. All throughout personal accounts are provided, as the author spent years interviewing survivors. Very vivid and personal accounts describe the final days and surrender and uncertain fate of the soldiers. Forbes also tells of the trials following the war and life of the prisoners, and the post war years of many of the survivors. There is even a chapter of members who went to Indo China after the war fighting for France! I think it is safe to say, little was left out, if a bullet was fired at the French volunteers, it is probably in this book! This is a large oversize book, if it was normal size it would probably run close to 600 pages. Maps are including and a few photos, but this is not a photo book. The author had only 500 copies printed, and there will be no additional printings. Each copy is also hand signed and numbered by the author.« less
