written by Benson Deng, Alephonsion Deng and Benjamin Ajak. I couldn't put it down. I started reading it this morning and finished it this evening. I read during the hour or so I have at work in the morning before other peeps start showing up, in between clients, during my lunch hour, on the way home (hubby drove), throughout dinner and just finished it. Can you tell that I really, really liked it, LOL? |

It's on my gynormous TBR stack. Hmmm, I'll move it closer to the top! Are you of these young men in this year's Olympics? I keep hearing about someone who was one of the original lost boys of Sudan, and don't know to whom the sportscasters are referring.

Move it closer to the top of the Mountain-O-Books, Jan! I think the guy you're thinking of is Lopez Lomong, a former Lost Boy and a middle-distance runner in this year's Olympics. I believe he carried the flag in the opening cermonies on Friday.

Will do! I'm currently reading 'The Art of Racing in the Rain', but haven't got to the point where I can't put it down. So They Poured...will be next.
Gosh, my brain is still on summer vacation. When I read what I wrote earlier, I realized it wasn't even a complete sentence. Glad you could understand anyway. And thanks for the recommendation. |

Yes, this is an awesome book. I couldn't put it down, either. To think of all that those authors went through, but yet - don't they sound like nice, kind, gentle people? The flag bearer at the opening ceremonies was a lost boy. It made me cry to see him walk into the stadium. I'm getting misty just typing it here. Just *think* of what these people endured. Wow.

I loved this book too. What these poor Sudanese have endured... |
