Great book for those interested in positive (aka not punishment or fear based) dog training. Includes a six week training program with various tasks/tricks and training suggestions. This book includes information on clicker training but a clicker is not required.

This book is very valuable for puppy and dog training. It covers some dog psychology and dog behavior. Training is approached with a reward system - food, praise, play, and more. Negative approaches to training & discipline are discouraged and explanations are provided, so you understand why to avoid them.

In addition, there are suggested training schedules and, in the appendix, forms you can copy to use to plan your training time and track your training and results.

What makes it especially great is that the chapters are short and, although there are a good # of pages, it is a "quick read," so you can read it and get started on training your dog very quickly.

I highly recommend this book. It is one you should get and keep on your bookshelf with your other books on dogs and dog care!
