This is a review of the audio cassette version of the book THE POWER IS WITHIN YOU.
I hadn't listened to this tape for awhile and I had forgotten how powerful a speaker Louise Hay is. Maybe it is because she has 'walked her talk' or, in other words, she has learned some hard lessons in her life and speaks from her heart. She is so easy to listen to. I wish I had someone in my early life who had half the wisdom and love in her heart that Louise has. But that's okay, later I had tapes by Louise to inspire and educate me.
In this book she talks about gut feelings that we store in our bodies. Many of us have stored tons of messages that remind us of how inferior we feel. When we try to change our thoughts those old thoughts come up and remind us that we aren't that good. Louise shares her 'secrets' for changing our thoughts and changing our lives.
Many of the people in our lives who seem to mistreat us are only reflecting back to us how we really feel inside. Louise feels that when we change how we feel inside, people will change how they treat us.
Many of us have a lot of blocks that weaken our immune system. We all have barriers of some sort. Even as we clear old barriers, other barriers continue to surface. We all need to let go of our past. We all have challenges in our life. Some have health challenges. Some have relationship challenges. Some of us have no idea how to get what we want. Louise has us look at our blocks. Do we have suffer from fear, resentment, criticism, or guilt. Louise says that resentment is anger stuffed down. We cannot deny our feelings. We can't continue to ignore them. Do you carry a lot of bitterness? Can we afford the luxury of a negative thought? Louise explores all these issues and more.
You can read the book, but I think there is a real benefit to hearing Louise speak. Her voice is comforting and loving. How many of us feel we are getting too much love?
