Seems like lots of complaints lately, so I thought I would share a positive thread.  I joined last September and have received 51 books since that time.  The vast majority have arrived with no problems at all.

The only problems I have had were one that was waterdamaged, one that was wrapped badly, one was a hardcover when I had ordred a paperback, and one person cancelled a request after sending me a book which led to me getting two copies of the same book.

That's it.  4 problems out of 51 books ordered.  That's 93% of the books that I have received had no problems at all.

I love this site.

Ditto on the praise to the site and TPTB - they rock !!!  Remember too you can help the site by donating back the free credits you got as a new member, and any other amount of credits, anytime you feel the urge.  Friends of PBS

I agree with you , Ray.  Thanks for posting a positive thread.  I, too, have had 307 books come to me and only less than 10 (no time to go count) have been a problem.  I would say that poor wrapping is the biggest problem I've had.  But I love being here.  I lover PBS.  I think the longer I'm a member here the better off I am.  I just wish I could read faster to pare down my TBR!!

I just recently received a paperback published 15 years ago. I expected it to arrive looking well loved, but it arrived in darn near pristine condition.

Most of the books I've requested have been in good or great shape.  I sometimes get dinged with an unpostable book, but that's hardly ever the case.

I can't count the number of specific titles (or authors) requested by deployed troops that I've been able to find here.  This site has been a gold mine for me.  There's no way in heck I could have found those specific books in my little rural corner of the world without more hassle or more expense.

I've recieved so many books from the peeps here on PBS.  I've had one go lost, had two that weren't repostable.   I LOVE this site and those who hang out here.   I think the problem swaps are the exception and that most of us are out there swapping books, reading them and being very happy with what we get.   PBS ROCKS

Every day is a good day here at PBS! I've received over 1300 books from other members in my almost 4 years here. Of those, I've had (just looked this up!) 8 problem swaps, and 18 books went lost. The problem swaps were 2 "wrong book," (sent wrong ISBN/version), 2 "damaged by sender" (water damaged) and 4 packaged badly that resulted in damage by USPS.

Of those 18 books that went lost, only 4 were sent by people who are still members. All the rest say "Account closed or suspended." So I'm guessing most of them were never sent to begin with--which assures me that PBS is on the ball dealing with those who joined PBS in bad faith and don't fulfill their end of the deal.

Total of 1,316 books with a total of 8 problems, 18 books that went lost (that I did eventually get from someone else successfully.) I don't do math so no idea what that percentage is but it's pretty insignificant, I think. PBS does, indeed, rock!

I'll add to the praise.  I've been a member since Nov. '08.  I've recieved 144 books and only have had problems with 2 of them.  Both problems were quickly remidied by the people who sent the faulty books when they returned my credit.  This site has been amazing!

I've had a problem with about 12 books. But the majority of the books I've received have been nearly brand new hardcovers. In the past 2 weeks alone I've received over 12 wish list books in excellent condition.

I love this place too.  I had a run of bad books at the beginning of the year but six out of the 150+ books I have received is a drop in the hat.  Those pristine and nearly new  books that I receive every week make this place a year round Christmas.  I LOVE PBS!

I've received 66 books since I joined. 2 were in terrible shape, 3-4 more were questionable, and the remaining 60 were in good shape. I've received at least 10-15 books that look like they came straight from the bookstore! Not a blemish in sight. Considering some of those "like new" books were hardbacks retailing at $15+, what a deal. I love it here!
