My best friend loaned me this book this morning since I have been waiting for her to hurry up with it!  This book took me through a range of emotions.  I don't want to add any spoilers in here, but WOW!

There were so many times in the book that I actually had physical pain in my heart and just wanted to cry.  You find yourself in pain with her and cheering her on at the same time.

Pretty graphic, contains physical and sexual abuse.  A must read all the same.  A fast read, but not a "light" read.

I'm interested to see the movie (you can watch the trailer on the Tyler Perry website. )

I'm so far behind on my TBR list that it would take me years to get around to reading this.  But I am looking forward to seeing the movie.

Yeah I feel your pain on the TBR pile, I seem to make it worse everytime I take my kids to the local library!    I want to see the movie as well, although I have no idea when it is gonna make it here.

I have found that with everyone I know who has picked up this book, they did not put it down until they were either finished with it or life made them take a break!

Just saw the movie and it was SO depressing.  No positive message whatsoever.  Was the book that awful????  Acting was good.

I have this on my WL and can't wait to get it!  I'm holding out on seeing the movie until after I've read the book.  Glad to hear that you thought it was good!

I've seen the movie and was moved to tears, I've been trying to purchase the book or check it out at the library, but had no luck at all!!! If anyone who owns the book would loan it out to me, I would make sure to sending it back in the condition in to which it was sent. Hope to here something soon......Thanking  you in advance

I saw the movie but I really want to read the book. I think the book will be way better than the movie. I can handle subject matter like that. Unfortunatly people have to deal with this stuff and it's an ever present reality.

I discovered the book years ago, and I have never forgotten it.  The movie is true to the story. While it is fiction, I thought it rang true and saddly, very real.

I read this book years ago and have never forgotten a word of it, unfortunately.  A friend gave it to me and didn't warn me at all about the story, which was one of the most hearbreaking I have ever read or heard of.  I was moved to tears and couldn't put it down.  Not for the lighthearted!

I read the book in a college course several years ago. I was assigned to give a presentation on the book. I don't have my copy anymore; I sold it on half.com months ago. Had I known it was going to be made into a movie, I probably would have to tried to find a new home for it with someone from PBS. Oh well.

Lauren T., the movie certainly DID have a postive message: kindness and understanding can make a difference in people's lives. Also, giving people the benefit of the doubt can have a positive outcome.

I thought that Push was about 1/2 to 2/3 of a really great book.  What happened?  Where is the closure? The ending?

I read the book cover to cover in one sitting.  It was so hard to put down!  I agree with Misty, though.  Where was the ending?  I had so hoped to find out what became of Precious and her children.  :(

I HAD to put PUSH down and read it over a period of a few weeks -- couldn't take so much pain at one time.
Finished the book,  WOW.  Then sent it on its way here on PBS.

A highly recommended book is STITCHES by David Small.  He is an illustrator of several children's books.  STITCHES is his autobiography,  graphic novel.   Child abuse that he went through --  do NOT, I repeat do NOT read the book description on PBS page.   Discover his story as you turn the pages.

I also loved this book. I had to take a few days to read it though, because it was just WAY too much of a WOW story to take in at once. It was an easy read, but like a pp said, not a "light" read. I waited to watch the movie until after I read the book, and I'm glad it did. The movie stayed true to the book, leaving out a lot of the detail (expected) - loved it. A crazy story that will likely haunt me for years.

Someone in Washington will be enjoying a brand new copy soon!
