Excellent book!!! 549 pages long, but you will not get tired of reading it. It's a great story with very intriguing characters. There is an immigrant family struggling to make it in the new country, a raga muffin street girl trying to change her ways , a lonely Scottish physician who falls in love, a blind musical genius who is the main character, and many more.. This takes place in the 19th century in New York city. A wonderful historical romance story.

Through a riveting storyline and a touching story, BJ Hoff unites the past with a tale of sorrow and love, trial and triumph. Interwoven with music and medicine, this saga will pull you into several families whose lives will be forever changed by the sound of His call.

This is a wonderful 3 book saga from B J Hoff. The people are all very real & deal with real struggles both of faith & physically. Interwoven throughout the stories of a musician, a physician to the poor, an itinerate worker & his family is the delightful poems & presence of the great hymn writer Fanny Crosby. Music is at the center but there is intrigue & struggles & people around the main characters that make the stories that much fuller & real.
