Quite a few of us have been mentioning The Shoemaker's Wife, by Adriana Trigiani, in various threads in this forum over the past couple of weeks. Some of us have recently read it, some are reading it now, and there are a lot of us with the book already on Mt. TBR!

I made the suggestion that we nominate this book for a RAL, and everyone said..."HUZZAH! Thanks for offering to do this for us!" Soooo...that's what I'm going to do!

So if you have a copy on Mt. TBR already, set it aside for April and join the fun. If you've already read it, stop in and join the discussion when we begin. And if you would like to particpate because you've heard so much about this book or just love RAL's, find a copy by April. We'd love to have you read with us!

There are quite a few people on the wish lists for this book, but I've heard from Kindle owners that it is available right now for $2.99. It is also available in most libraries, and I found my copy at my favorite UBS. I checked a few resale sites and used copies are starting at about $4.

I won't set up chapter threads for a while yet, but wanted to let everyone know April's RAL is in the works and give you enough time to find the book if you'd like to participate!

Go, Lauri, indeed! And don'cha know Shelley is breathing a huge sigh of relief that she has successfully "recruited" April's RAL hostess? Great job, Shelley!

Yea, Lauri!!  And yes, I am breathing a sigh of relief that I found a hostess for the next RAL.  Well, it was easy.  Poor unsuspecting Lauri just wandered right in front of me, and she was like a young doe in headlights.  She innocently asked a question, and BAM!  She's hosting the next RAL.  Considering the same thing happened to me, half of me is sympathetic, and the other half is not.  LOL!

I recently bought the book on Kindle, so I am ready to go!

If anyone has a copy they are willing to part with, you might want to post a message here saying you have it and the first one to PM you and send you a credit gets the book.

Ahh!!!  So glad to see this!  I just checked it out from my library for my Kindle, but I'll return it and save it for April.  Although, it does leave me at a bit of a loss as to what to read when I finish my current book.  I'll have to figure it out... Thanks, Lauri!  I love having different people host the RAL each time.

I raided my favorite UBS this weekend and grabbed an additional copy of "The Shoemaker's Wife"...I thought that someone here would like to get their hands on a copy, for sure! It is a withdrawn library book in nice condition. If you would like to have me send it to you for the RAL in April, please post here so everyone knows it is taken and PM your address to me.

Hello, RAL peeps!

Later today I'll be dividing up the book by chapters and establishing the discussion threads for The Shoemaker's Wife so you can begin to plot your course. There's still time to grab a copy if you'd like to join us!

And our friend and savior Genie has agreed to host the June RAL!!! Yay, Genie! There is some initial talk floating around about the book, but she's going to decide for certain what we'll be reading later.
