I have been approached by a preschool to be their science teacher for 3yr olds, 4 yr olds & 5 yr olds.  I have never taught this age before & have never taught just science before.

Do you all know of any websites &/or books that are great science resources for this age group?  Any input is really appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Shayla

try www.preschoolrocks.com I saw some science/health related themes on there.

and http://www.atozteacherstuff.com  This is a great site with all kinds of ideas, and a forum that you can post teacher questions to.

For the 3's you will have to keep it short and simple. The 4's and 5's will be able to sit longer and learn more. I think its great that they want to have science added into that age level!  You could also google the Smithsonian. They have teacher resources, and many other organizations.  Make it simple, fun, and get them involved as much as you can. Hope that helps.

Shayla, I have a lot of preschool science stuff but its in another state right now!  I will try to remember in August to check and see what I have. (I teach special ed science so I have things for all levels of kids!)

Check out Mudpies to Magnets, and The Ultimate Book of Kid Concoctions (this is not a science book per say, but almost everything in it is based on some sort of scientific concept)

Look up instructions to make a Density Bottle.

I'll see if I can purge my files in August and see what else I can help you out with.

There are many books in the series "Let's read and find out" published by Harper.
