Johanna Lindsey's recurring characters of the Malory family meet for Christmas and receive an unexpected present; a journal detailing the story of their great-grandparents. The story inspires a wedding between two characters. A good read for those of us who enjoy the Malorys.
A good look at the Malory family history, wound into a "modern" tale of the family.
Quick read, ties up some loose ends. Fun!
Great story, if you love the Malory family this is a must.
Typical Mallory novel, Great listening to it in the car.Unabridged.
I enjoyed the book, lots of family members and secrets were shared in it. Great storyline and suspense.
So this was a great read. Very quick, but a lot of fun. You get a little taste of all the Malorys together and you get to here the story of their Gypsy grandmother and family secrets. A nice book.
An insipid little Christmas romance set in England. Goes back and forth in time but light on the story line. No sexual content. Fast, easy read, good for relaxing with before sleep.
I loved this story, heartwarming.
This Christmas story featuring the Malory family-is indeed a "Present"
Johanna Lindsey is a firm favorite for classic historical romance.
I love all the Malory books including this one.
was a great book. i couldn't put it down.
It was truly an intriguing love story. Good, fast read.
Absolutely a fantastic read...For those of us who fell in love with the rascillian Mallory family and their many indiscretions, this is a fantastic book filled with mystery and plenty of romance. I own this book in hardcover as all my Johanna Lindsey books are. This book is an easy quick read full of Mallory antics. Once you read it you will love it and want to read it again.
The Present finds the Malory clan gathered at their ancestral estate to celebrate the holidays. To add to the excitement, a beautifully wrapped gift has mysteriously appeared in the parlor. No one knows who placed it there and Jason Malory, the eldest and only permanent resident of Haverston, has no inkling that the intriguing package is about to change his life forever. What connection does the gaily wrapped gift have with the unmarked grave in the meadow? Was the great-great-grandmother of this generation of Malory's a Gypsy or a Russian Princess? Or both? How will the Malory clan accept the secrets revealed by this wonderful Christmas gift? The Present is a charming, warm, and amusing visit with the much-loved members of the fascinating Malory family.--Review from Amazon.com
The Mallory family at Christmas.... a present is placed in the parlor while no one is watching, and no one knows who put it there. The mystery present brings together two new lovers, and two old lovers in the memory of a past love. Johanna Lindsey is a trusted read every time....
heartwarming story of how an old journal's account of a love story blesses the descendants who are at odds with each other.
The gift is an old journal--a tender and tempestuous account of the love affair between the second Marquis, Christopher Malory and dark gypsy beauty named Anastasia, who seeks a love match with a non-gypsy in order to save herself from a prearranged marriage.
a mysterious anonymous present-an old journal about love affairs in the family
The mysterious present was hard to miss, placed prominently up on a pedestal table next to the fireplace. Wrapped in gold cloth, banded with a red velvet ribbon and bow, it was oddly shaped nearly like the size of a thick book, yet a round protrusion on top suggested it was nothing that simple. There was no indication of who the present was from, nor who it was for. Open THE PRESENT and discover a special gift of love for the Malorys this holiday season.
IT IS CHRISTMAS AND ALL IS NOT WELL WITH THE MATORYS. AS THE FAMILY GATHERS AT HAVERSTON TO CELEBRATE THE HOLIDAYS TOGETHER, UNDERLYING TENSIONS DISTURB THE UNION OF BLACK SHEEP. THE GIFT IS AN OLD JOURNAL-A TENDER AND TEMPESTUOUS ACCOUNT OF THE LOVE AFFAIR BETWEEN CHRISTOPHER MALORY, THE SECOND MARQUIS AND AN ENIGMATIC DARK BEAUTY NAMED ANASTASIA.....
Malory's...always a good read.
