Written in 1967, and the source of the movie of the same name, this is an intriguing thriller about what happens when Air Force One crashes, but the President's body is not recovered. A political thriller than has implications for our post-9/11 world, but also reflects an earlier, simpler, more innocent time.

The shock of screaming headlines, a runaway bestseller that is tense, frightening, superb.
