I read such glowing reviews of this book, but I just can't agree. The heroine's (Andy's) words and thoughts are crammed full of "zingy one-liners" to the point of overkill. I also got tired of the full page (sometimes two page) descriptions of mundane things - all with a smart-aleck slant to them. I skimmed a lot of this book; the plot, too, was rather thin and Andy makes one obvious mistake after another while trying to figure out why her sometime-friend Miranda died. My first McBride book and probably my last.
