If you enjoy books about strong women who thrive in adversity, then you will enjoy The Pride of Hannah Wade. Hannah is taken from the life that she knows and loves and is thrown into an world that is alien and harsh. She is stripped of her modesty, her joy and even, arguably, her humanity, as she becomes a slave in a life so different from her own. However, she makes a choice, die or live in what HER society calls "a fate worse than death." She is "rescued" yet she is reviled for surviving. She finds acceptance within herself, but can her rigid husband ever accept the things she had to do to survive. This is a wonderful tale of life, hardship and finally love. I highly recommend it as a good Saturday read.
