My question is about Print dates.

Lets say I want the Hobbit book and there is several print dates for this book. I didn't check isbn so I am assuming that they are different.

If I choose 2008 print date will I be receiving the book of that print date?

Thanks,

Jackie

Not necessarily.  If the ISBN was used for several different printing runs, you could end up with a book with a different print date.

The PBS system which is FIFO (First in First out) is totally driven by the ISBN which should be tied identically to the binding, title and author.  Print dates aren't considered since many publishers re-use ISBN's.

I think you would definitely want to use an RC stating that you only want a certain print date. It is very common for the same ISBN to be carried through the reprints if the publisher stays the same.
