If I purchase PBS postage, can I change the zip code that it's shipping from? I live between two towns and often go into the town that's outside my zip code but the post office employees get really pi$$y if I don't change the zip code on the electronic postage so they get credit for the shipment. I can change the zip code on paypal postage but I like to use PBS postage when I have multiple book requests.

I don't believe you can change the zip code as it just prints your address.

Rebecca is correct -- there is no way to change your shipping zip code without changing your mailing address.

Thanks Rebecca and Elizabeth. That's what I thought. I didn't know if I was missing something.

I used to never mail from my own zip code, always mailed from the town next to mine because I worked close to the post office. I've also mailed from a few other states. Never had a problem. I've heard some POs get a little testy about accepting it, but they are still required to accept all postage whether they get credit for the sale or not.

That's what I figured. I should have put it in the blue box and just ignored their previous gripes. But I ended up just mailing from my own post office.

I mailed a bunch a books the other day within my zip code and then realized after getting to work that I had left one in the seat of the car.  So I mailed it close to work, which is outside of my zip code.  I noticed that one lone book didn't have an initial scan and didn't get scanned until a few days later, but the books mailed within my zip code were scanned almost immediately.   I don't know if mailing within my zip code has anything to do with it or not.

In this era of branch closures, it's more than just counter staff getting pissy. I live in one ZIP code, but NEVER actually use that post office branch for mailing purposes, since there is actually a closer (and more customer-friendly) branch to my house. PBS shipments are the only outgoing packages that I cannot change the "mailed from" ZIP code on. I have requested an enhancement that would allow us to change the "mailed from" ZIP code. However, based upon the Feedback comment from the PBS Team, I wouldn't expect it to happen any time soon. I just hope that my preferred branch continues to survive USPS budget cuts...

Actuallly if you print postage from Paypal you can choose a different shipping zip code from the return mailing address.  I am not sure why PBS doesn't offer this option!

I don't use PBS postage that often, but when I do, I always mail them from a different zip code.  I only work about a mile down the road but it's a different zip code and I put my books in the work outgoing mail bag.  Never had a problem.
