I just printed my first PBS Postage paid label... but I forget to change the date to today.  So instead of saying 9/5, the date says 9/9.

What are my options?

If I put it in the bluebox will it get flagged as a problem?

Do I need to go the post office and get a $0.00 sticket with the right date?

Do I wait til 9/9 to mail?

Thoughts from those of you with experience?

THanks!

it's my understanding that you can mail before the date on the wrapper but not after.

I've done that before and I just had to initial the label in the blank spot next to the address of who it was going to.  I was told by the post office that then nobody would think the package had been held in the postoffice overnight.  I had to do 8 packages!  But, that's all you have to do.  Just do that before you mail it.

My PO has no problem with it at all.  I always use the latest date possible because I can't mail my own books and I have to rely on others who may not mail them as timely as I would.  If it's mailed before the date then no problem.  If it's mailed after the date - you have to take it to a clerk who will postmark it in person and you don't have to rebuy the postage.  Having it dated a few days in the future is good if you are mailing it on a weekend, holiday, or at a mailbox that won't get pick-up for a few days.  I'm so glad there is that option, because if I had to depend on my family members (all male) to take it in to a clerk - they'd never mail anything.

My post office said "mailed early is fine. Mailed late is not."

I guess it just depends on the post office.
