I just recently started using printed postage (& pbs dc).  You know how it says, 'mailed from zip code XXXXX'? Does that mean we can only put it in a mailbox in that zipcode?

For instance, I was in another town next to mine today, running errands.  I was thinking of mailing it there but waited 'til I was back home b/c I was unsure.  This is for future reference b/c I don't want to do anything wrong.

Thanks in advance.

Charissa, you are going to get conflicting answers on this question.  Some people have been turned away at the counter for this, as apparently not all USPS employees have the same knowledge.  I've asked twice at my local post office, and got the same answer...if you've purchased postage you can mail it at any USPS location.  Dropping in a blue box shouldn't be a problem.  But ask locally there seems to be alot of variations around the country.

On rural routes there are some differences.  Rural carriers cannot accept over 13 oz. packages with a different zip nor packages with a different zip - printed postage may void either or both of these problems.  Ask your local post office.
